Go To Places is the only officially recognised organisation delivering destination management services across multiple counties in the UK.  It seeks to grow the UK visitor economy through operating campaigns, research and a host of DMO related services.

Go To Places is the parent company of Visit Kent and Visit Herts, who are responsible for supporting and growing the tourism industry in these regions. 

Go To Places is seeking to recruit a talented Project Executive to help deliver the marketing strategies and projects across the Go To Places portfolio, and boost the visitor economy in key locations and market participating destinations to the UK, Europe and USA.  The Project Executive will work directly with the Go To Places Project Managers on specific funding bids and marketing projects, and will also assist the Go To Places marketing team to support the Visit Kent and Visit Herts marketing outputs where needed, including the Big Weekend campaigns.  We can offer the right candidate the chance to work with highly skilled and experienced digital marketers, business development experts, and some of the country’s leading visitor attractions, with the possibility of national and international travel.

Key accountabilites include:

  • Helping to draft, plan and oversee various project marketing plans to ensure activities are completed across the duration of funding contracts
  • Managing partner correspondence across the projects, including scheduling email updates, setting up conference calls and face to face meetings, and monitoring/recording feedback and next steps
  • Drafting creative content for websites, print, and partner channels, and editing and proofreading draft reports and sample materials
  • Planning and setting up project-specific communications through various channels including social media, websites, e-newsletters strategy, and monitoring results
  • Project database management to maintain the client and consumer databases across target markets
  • Monitoring and recording results, and providing updates and stats for campaign reports, board reports and meetings
  • Working with the research team to compress research data where needed for different projects
  • Working with the marketing manager(s) to deliver requirements for various campaigns e.g. Big Weekend, Kent Contemporary, etc, and maintaining campaign action plans and schedules
  • Content management and updating of the Visit Kent and Visit Herts websites
  • Providing content for the Go To Places’ destination social media accounts
  • Reporting on marketing activity for campaign meetings, investor reports and Board reports, alongside monitoring results and feedback, and amending activity accordingly
  • Regular contact with Visit Kent and Visit Herts campaign partners and districts to ensure SLAs are met
  • Representing the company at corporate and consumer event

The ideal person will bring the following:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A passion for, and understanding of, the tourism industry
  • Experience of project management, ideally working with multiple partners
  • B2B experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to liaise with external parties and key stakeholders, and to write content where required
  • Demonstrable experience of using a variety of social media channels, website analytics and CMS systems.
  • Highly competent in the use of Microsoft programmes
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and practice
  • Experience in a B2C environment and in tourism, charity, FMCG or arts/events sector would be ideal
  • A degree in digital marketing or a similar subject, or demonstrable experience in these fields
  • Experience of HTML
  • A knowledge of digital and graphic design and design software an advantage
  • Experience with managing SEO and PPC campaigns would be beneficial

This is a permanent, full time role based in the office in Canterbury.  However, the job holder must have the ability and flexibility to travel around Kent, Hertfordshire and the rest of the UK.
