Aviation high-flyer honoured with Fellowship of Tourism Society
At a special lunch in London on 18th February Tourism Society chairman Hayley Beer-Gamage FTS presented Chris Browne OBE with a Society Fellowship for her services to the travel industry.
Browne rose through the airline industry with roles at Iberia Airways, Air 2000 and Thomson Airways before becoming chief operating officer of TUI Airlines, which she left last September. She has now joined EasyJet as a non-executive director. Browne is also a non-executive director of Bovis Homes Group.
Browne told lunch guests in London of her amazing journey from Strabane, during Northern Ireland’s worst troubles, through a Spanish degree at Queens, to the dizzying heights of the aviation industry. Launching a new luxury aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, was a major highlight in her career, she said.
The award of Society Fellowship took place at a lunch organised by the Tourism Consultants Network and hosted by the Network’s chairman, Roger Goodacre FTS.
